Hi guys, I'm buying a proper tripod soon (either a Vinten Vision Blue or Sachtler Cine DSLR) and personally have tested the VB with some rigs.
Currently i have the Gini rig and even with the new baseplate, it seems like the camera still sits too high and raises the CG so much that the Vision Blue head had trouble with some lightweight lenses. Now I know the Gini rig is supposed to be great for modular handheld work, but this definitely won't do on a VB.
What I want to know is if there is a manufacturer out there that has a really low profile baseplate that doesn't raise the CG of the camera that much.
I was looking at CPM film tools and found this: http://www.cpmcamerarigs.com/DSLR_Cage_ ... r_dslr.htm
Is their belly pan a good option?
