I really want focus peaking for my GH2 (so much so I nearly bought a NEX) and it seems an EVF is the only way to go.
Due to the fact that one of the reasons I bought the GH2 though is its size I'm obviously eager to keep the overall footprint as small as possible, as well as keeping it comfortable for handheld shooting (no rig). Although the standard hotsoe mounts don't look bad I'd rather mount it in a way such that the main bulk of the EVF is over the lens and quite low down, with only an inch or so over the back of the camera.
Anyone got any ideas as to how best to go about this? I'm a bit worried about still using the hot shoe to mount it without some sort of extra support as the weight will be much further forwards and i wouldn't want to damage it. Is some sort of DIY job combining a hot shoe mount and lens rest the most viable solution whilst keeping size and weight to a minimum?
Also a slightly related question, which EVF is small whilst still being good quality, and most importantly including a good peaking feature. The Zacuto looks pretty compact and with the update for red peaking lines looks very good in that department IMO, any less well known ones to recommend?
Sorry about such a long list of questions, any help is appriciated.
