I shoot on 60D at the moment. I have the 18-135mm f/3.5-5 kit lens and the 50mm f/1.8 prime. I shoot fictional video, and rarely take stills.
I've had my sites on the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC lens for a while now because of the price and the VC. On Digital Rev it's £759.99. Recently though, I saw the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 with VC for £219.
I know the USM will account for much of the price difference. I'm just wondering how much difference the high grade glass would make to 1080p video? Also, the 24-70mm would be more like 40-110 on my 60D, right? So the 17-50mm would be nearer to 24-70mm on the 60D?
Any strictly-video advice from someone with experience with both?
