OK. When I open a video in Vegas, there's normally an image strip at the top and a sound strip at the bottom. The sound strip contains two channels. Which is left and which is right, and how can I adjust the balance? I've looked for a balance control and not been able to find one.
Having said that, I've noticed on several of my videos that the balance is heavily weighted to one of the channels. I've not yet conducted tests to see what the cause is. But I will report back if I find something interesting. The possibilities I can think of at the moment are:
* I have a defective mic (testing with multiple mics will identify this one)
* The area I'm recording in is very polarized (a 360 degree sweep should settle this)
* the camera is amplifying one channel more than another
If you can think of anything else, let me know.
